The best training I have ever had! Nothing to do with the previous ones! Waste of money and time… Before the course I listened to all kinds of nonsense about GUE from people who do not know what they are talking about. Apparently GUE sets a high bar and is an example of HOW it should be to train divers. Nikos has done an amazing job.Whatever I say will be not enough. Do It Right or don’t do it at all! Thanks for everything!

Nikos was fantastic. He managed the time so well to give us a smooth transition between drysuit primer and fundies. I’ve told so many friends about the post dive video review, as we say, the camera doesn’t lie. But it was such a fantastic tool to get a better perspective on where problems are that you can’t guy from a first person view in the water. Nikos took so much time, often past dinner, to go through minor details with incredible feedback. It was greatly appreciated that he dedicated so much of his time to us that week. I certainly would do another course with Nikos and GUE and have already recommended him to others.

Applicants for a GUE Fundamentals course must:
- Be physically and mentally fit.
- Hold insurance that will cover diving emergencies such as hyperbaric treatment, e.g., DAN Master-level insurance or equivalent.
- Be a nonsmoker.
- Obtain a physician’s prior written authorization for the use of prescription drugs, except for birth control, or for any medical condition that may pose a risk while diving.
- Be a minimum of 16 years of age. Documented parental or legal guardian consent must be submitted to GUE HQ when the participant is a minor.
- Be certified, at minimum, as an autonomous entry-level scuba diver (or equivalent) from a recognized training agency.
- Submit a completed Course Registration Form, Medical History Form, and Liability Release Form to GUE HQ.
- 4 days format: The GUE Fundamentals course is normally conducted over four days. It requires a minimum of six dives and at least thirty hours of instruction, encompassing classroom lectures, land drills, and in-water work.
- Part 1 & Part 2 format: Has been designed for those who prefer to take the class in two parts either because of time available as well as to allow time between the two sessions for them to further experfirst half and an introduction and the second half (part 2)
- The GUE Fundamentals Part 1 course is normally conducted over two days. It requires a minimum of two dives and at least fourteen hours of instruction, encompassing classroom lectures, land drills, and in-water work.
- The GUE Fundamentals Part 2 course is normally conducted over three days. It requires a minimum of four dives and at least twenty hours of instruction, encompassing classroom lectures, land drills, and in-water work.

- Certification is awarded after completion of course and a pass mark of 90% or more is achieved.
- If a passing mark isn’t achieved the first time round, students may retake the exam.
Certification Requirements
- Must be able to swim at least 275 m in less than 14 minutes without stopping.
- Must be able to swim a distance of at least 15 m on a breath hold while submerged.
- At the computation of the course candidate who have met the certification criteria may be awarded with a Rec or Tech pass, respectively. Tech pass eligibles candidates to enrol into GUE Tech and Cave training programs.

- GUE double tank configuration
- One primary and two backup lights
A 50% deposit is required upon confirmation of enrolment, the remaining balance is due before the start of the class.
