Northern Saronic

This itinerary is the wreck enthusiasts dream!

We have wrecks that span a large range of depths and experience levels, from Rec to Tech.

They are rich in history, with some dating from WW1.

For trained trimix divers we offer many wrecks including the M/S Piloros which sunk in 1976 and the C/S Retriever a WW2 casualty sunk in 1941.

Both of these are located just a short distance from the south western coast of Athens. So both are easily diveable at the start of this trip.

This route offers the bonus of short sailing times between dive sites and is less prone to rough weather, as the Saronic Gulf offers protection from the wind.

We will visit the islands of Aegina, Agistri, Doroussa, Methana & Poros. The first wreck dive is likely to be the M/V Avantis III. She was a cargo ship that sunk in 2004 close to the island of Doroussa. It's also a great location to anchor and spend a night of peace and tranquility close to this uninhabited spot.

Next morning we will have a couple of dives around Moni island before going ashore at Aegina. There we'll definitely have a meal at our favorite fish taverna and buy some of the well known local nuts.

Next day we can dive the Petrokaravo pinnacle with wonderful drop offs and canyons. Then to Methana to dive the Mavri Petra (Black Stone) under the volcano, complete with petrified lava formations.

Our final destination will be Poros, an island of tranquility and romance. A unique combination of landscapes for walking and diving at Modi Islet; an area rich with archeology and ancient finds.
